The Barn
First built in 1917, the Barn recently completed a $30 million renovation and expansion. It now features 18,500 square feet of cooking and dining space, plus a patio bar and outdoor stage complex.

Botanic Gardens
Donor support for the UCR Botanic Gardens improved the collection and grounds, and launched new projects including the Native American Plants Garden, Conservatory, and virtual activities including interactive Story Maps.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation granted $6.7 million benefiting the Center for Ideas and Society, California Center for Native Nations, and the incipient Latino and Latin American Studies Research Center.

College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences
A $10 million gift supporting student and faculty success across all disciplines from UCR Foundation trustees Rochelle A. Campbell and Allison Campbell is tied for UCR’s largest single gift. In 2018, the University Laboratory Building was renamed Rochelle and Allison Campbell Hall.

Dundee Residence Hall and Glasgow Dining Hall
This major new student housing and dining complex includes a 51,000-square-foot, two-story dining facility; and two seven-story residence halls.

Graduate School of Education
The UCR-RUSD Pipeline Scholarship created by Kathy Allavie in partnership with Riverside Unified School District supports future STEM educators.

Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering
A $10 million gift from Winston Chung supports clean battery power, solar energy storage and distribution, and sustainable transportation research. Tied for UCR’s largest single gift, this donation named a building, created two endowed chairs, and formed the Winston Chung Global Energy Center.

Multidisciplinary Research Building
Dramatically expanding UCR’s laboratory facilities, this five-story structure houses up to 56 researchers and their teams. A $25,000 gift from Professor Frances Sladek named a collaboration space used by her “Food, Bugs, Guts & Brains” team and others.

Plant Growth Environments Facility
The first new greenhouse research facility built at UCR in 40 years, this $22 million, 30,000-square-foot building includes climate-controlled modules and supports an expanded range of research.

Gifts from the A. Gary Anderson Family helped create three new endowed faculty chairs in the School of Business, and the Anderson Matching Fund Initiative inspired other donors.

A $2.6 million gift from Inland Empire Health Plan provides Mission Awards to cover tuition and fees for 23 students who will go on to practice medicine in Inland Southern California. Nearly 100 scholarships have been funded to date.

Graduate scholarship support provided by Joseph N. Sanberg to establish the Abraham “Manny” Rice Fund for California’s Future was instrumental in recruiting the first three Master of Public Policy cohorts.

The Jay K. Klein Endowed Science Fiction and Fantasy Collection endowment of $3 million and a $1.4 million gift-in-kind of Klein’s science fiction collection to the Tomás Rivera Library endowed a library position and bolstered the library’s holdings.
